Our vision is one where birds and other native wildlife flourish, and everyone works together to support our natural heritage.

We are aiming to be pest free by 2026.

  • We coordinate and support volunteer groups to work in local reserves to remove pest plants and pest animals
  • We provide tools for volunteers and traps for them to use through our Tool Shed
  • We go in to schools and community groups and educate them on kauri dieback disease and the importance of looking after our native plants and birds
  • We provide training and workshops on kauri dieback, pest plant ID and removal, predator trapping
  • We support local volunteer groups with planting days in reserves
  • We advocate to protect and restore our native biodiversity in our Kaipātiki area working with other community groups, out Local Board and Auckland Council.

Available Roles:

Social media content creator (North Shore based)

We have been creating video content for Facebook, Instagram and YouTube, and would love your help to keep our posting regular, fresh and relevant.

Help restore and protect the ngahere (North Shore based)

In Kaipātiki Local Board area, PFK supports many independent local groups to tiaki (care for) our unique and beautiful environment. If you live in the area and would like to help other local people care for the reserves, this role is for you.

Event support (Noth Shore based)

We have an ongoing need for volunteers to join our fun events team. Most events are in reserves in Kaipātiki (North Shore) but we also have some indoors, e.g. at libraries, schools and our HQ in Glenfield.
