Gardening, DIY and general project support at Puāwai, Glenfield

Do you want to get involved in environmental work without the need for any prior knowledge or experience? With our Friday morning sessions, you can start your volunteering immediately and learn as you go. Staff and more experienced volunteers will introduce you to our gardens and projects, where you can make a real difference helping out for 2 hours a week.

Working alongside a diverse group of volunteers, you will make new connections, get to practice your English language skills, learn about the work volunteers do to protect Aotearoa's unique native plants and animals, and have some fun at the same time. This is a good starting place for those who would like to gain experience in ecological restoration and/or event management with PFK and a great way to get an introduction to life in Auckland if you are a newcomer.

Requirements:

Transport to and from Glenfield (we are on several bus routes).
If you are living in an area with an ecological or pest-free group close to you, you may be referred to volunteer with that group instead of PFK.

Time commitment:

2-3 hours per week
