Native tree planting
We’re looking for volunteers from our west Auckland community to join us in restoring native forest and creating healthier, greener spaces for everyone to enjoy.
Throughout September and early October, we’ll be planting at sites across Avondale, New Lynn and Blockhouse Bay. Planting sessions will usually take place on Wednesday or Thursday mornings and run for a couple of hours, with dates depending on coordinator availability.
No experience needed! Whether you’re a regular volunteer or keen to come along and give it a go, we’d love to have you join us. It’s a great chance to meet others in the community, spend some time outdoors and make a real difference to the places we all call home.
The Whau River Catchment Trust is a community-focused environmental group, and the work we do is only possible because of the amazing people who give their time to help care for the Whau.

No planting experience needed. You must bring sturdy, closed-in footwear and a drink bottle. Tools, gloves and plants are all provided.
Either Wednesdays or Thursdays, for a couple of hours in the morning.
