Stream restoration weeding and planting
The Whau River Catchment Trust is a non-profit environmental group, delivering ecological restoration projects all across the catchment with the support of our amazing west Auckland community. We are holding a weeding and planting bee to care for one of our local streams at Tiakina/Sister Rene Shadbolt Park in New Lynn. We'll be removing weeds to release our existing native plants, and then planting native trees in the gaps. These trees will help to stabilise the bank and improve the water quality of the Waitahurangi.
You must have sturdy closed-in footwear and a drink bottle. No experience required.
A few hours on Sunday morning, 28th June. We'll be starting at 9:30am and finishing no later than midday.
