Community Tree Planting - 20th Anniversary đ±
Join Conservation Volunteers New Zealand as we celebrate 20 years of community, nature, and joy. On Saturday 20 June, weâre bringing together our volunteers and supporters for a special community planting day on the Papakura Stream Restoration Project in Auckland. Everyone is welcome; however, spaces are limited, so please register early. Join us as we mark two decades of restoring nature and creating connections across Aotearoa. Whatâs included: Youâll be helping to plant native trees and plants as part of the Papakura Stream Restoration Projectâa catchment-wide programme working to bring life back to the Papakura Stream, one of Aucklandâs most impacted freshwater systems. Since 2021, weâve planted over 168,000 native trees and plants, with 30,000+ more planned for this winterâand weâd love your help! All tools and equipment will be provided. Please wear sturdy, comfortable footwear and bring a water bottle. We will finish our planting at 12:30pm and end with some celebratory snacks for all our volunteers. For this volunteer day you are welcome to meet us on site, or at our office in Mount Eden to get a ride in our van (by prior arrangement). Bring your friends and whÄnau along and get ready to dig deep! This event is made possible thanks to generous funding from QBE.
Please register for this event by going to our booking portal.
What to wear: Appropriate outdoor clothing (lightweight long-sleeved clothing and tough trousers are needed to protect yourself from cuts and scratches and insect bites/stings).
Please wear sturdy, comfortable footwear and something you don't mind getting muddy (gumboots, hiking shoes, work boots, trainers).
CVNZ will supply all of the tools and equipment required for the day. Please bring with you a hat, raincoat/waterproof jacket, sunblock, a snack, full water bottle and any medication you may need (hayfever medication, inhalers etc).
We will have extra water to refill bottles, sunblock, snacks and insect repellent with us on the day.
