Native Plant Nursery Support

The Whau River Catchment Trust is local conservation group committed to preserving and restoring our local natural habitats and ecosystems. The work that our nursery volunteers do is invaluable, as they raise all the plants that go towards our native restoration plantings.

No nursery experience? Don't worry - we will teach you everything you need to know! We just need volunteers who are willing to learn and available to help out for a few hours on a regular weekly basis.

We will show you how to sow seeds and pot up plants. We will also teach you which plant is which, so you will be able to tell what's a native seedling and what's a weed. All equipment and gloves are provided, as well as tea and biscuits!
