Ken Maunder Park rubbish clean-up
Ken Maunder Park is a lovely spot in New Lynn, reaching down to the edge of the estuary and enjoying stunning views up and down the Whau River. However, it is currently spoiled by large amounts of litter along the river banks, including some illegal dumping. We are looking for a few amazing volunteers to lend a helping hand to remove all the rubbish before any ends up in the estuary. We will meet by the park car park at 34 Binsted Road, New Lynn at 9:30 on Saturday morning. Bring along a friend or whanau member - more hands make for lighter work!
Closed-in footwear such as old sneakers, tramping shores or gumboots (not sandals or jandals); sunhat and sunscreen; a raincoat if the weather is wet; and snacks and a drink bottle. Tamariki 12 and under must be supervised by an adult. Gloves and rubbish bags will be provided, but feel free to bring your own rubbish-grabbing tools too if you have any.
One to two hours, from 9:30am on Saturday 14 March.
