BioBlitz volunteer
The Whau River Catchment Trust is a non-profit that aims to protect and restore the Whau River and the wider catchment, creating spaces where both native wildlife and people can thrive through education and restoration projects.
We’re conducting a BioBlitz to document the diverse species found in Sabulite Reserve at Kelston. This will help establish a baseline of local biodiversity, allowing us to track changes in species presence over time. Participants will take photos (observations) of living organisms in the park and use the iNaturalist app to identify and upload these observations to a public online database.
Please download the app and create an account before the event to take part. Don’t worry if you’re not familiar with it — our coordinator will be there to help you get set up before the day of the event.
