Planting at Waterview Glades
Our collaborative group, Friends of Oakley Creek, invites you to participate in the planting event at Waterview Glades.
Come and make a difference to plant our native young trees! These trees will require further care and nourishment, as well as ongoing effort in weeding to increase their survival. Once they are established, a more friendly habitat for birds, insects, reptiles and shady water catchment with tuna will be created to enhance our biodiversity.

For this volunteer day, you are welcome to meet us on-site at 9.45am.
If you need to get a ride from CVNZ, please meet at our office at 8:45am at 10 New North Rd Eden Terrace. Seats are limited in our vans, so you MUST contact Teresa Ma at tma@cvnz.org.nz or text 021 496 890 to reserve a seat.
Direction: Please meet us at the bus stop – 8134, opposite Alford Street at Waterview Glades.
What to wear: Please wear sturdy, comfortable footwear and something you don’t mind getting muddy (gumboots, hiking shoes, work boots, trainers) and appropriate outdoor clothing (lightweight long sleeved clothing and trousers are needed to protect yourself from cuts and scratches and insect bites/stings).
What to bring: CVNZ will supply all of the tools and equipment required for the day. Please bring with you a hat, raincoat/waterproof jacket, sunblock, a snack, full water bottle and any medication you may need (hayfever medication, inhalers etc). We will have extra water to refill bottles, sunblock, snacks and insect repellent with us on the day.
