Growsafe certified - weed spraying
The Whau River Catchment Trust is a non-profit environmental group, delivering ecological restoration projects all across the catchment with the support of our amazing West Auckland community. We are looking for a keen volunteer with a current Growsafe certificate who can help us out on site with weed spraying using a knapsack. Mainly we're aiming to tackle kikuyu along the perimeter of our plantings.
The first site is at Craigavon Park in Blockhouse Bay which we are looking at spraying as soon as possible, ideally either in late January or early February. We can be pretty flexible with time and day, and are happy to discuss to find a time that best suits you. The job itself will probably take a couple of hours.
We can provide all spraying equipment and PPE, though if you have any of your own gear feel free to use that instead.
If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you!
A current Growsafe certificate.
One-off job for 2-3 hours. There are also opportunities for similar work on other sites in the future if you're keen to help out more.
Getting started:
