Ātiu Creek Weed Busting Overnighters

This year we need your help maintaining existing restoration planting sites, combatting invasive pest plants in various parts of the park and ensuring the best outcomes for the young plants put in the ground by our volunteers. This goes to support the health of new sites, enriches existing sites, and goes to support the growing of over 40,000 native plants that will supply the 2024 planting season at Ātiu Creek Regional Park.

You will learn about the pressures our native species are under, how to help and what skills are transferable to your own gardens and neighborhoods' so you can be a local weed busting legend.

Transport from Mount Eden to Ātiu Creek Regional Park and back is provided. Pickup and drop-off from Albany Bus Interchange or Wellsford town center available upon request for overnight stay only. If you do not wish to stay overnight, meeting at main carpark at Ātiu creek to be organized upon request.

The work is physical, and a reasonable level of fitness is required.
