Volunteer Welcome Day

Have you ever wanted to volunteer with an environmental organisation?

Kaipātiki Project is a well established Environmental Charity that has been operating in North Auckland since 1998. We manage an amazing community of dedicated volunteers across our multiple sustainability projects. Volunteers are the life-blood of our organisation, and our priority to support and appreciate our volunteers is felt by all who join the whānau.

We offer the following volunteer opportunities:

Native Plant Nurseries (Birkdale and Hobsonville)
Sustainable Food Gardens (Birkdale and Hobsonville)
Community Compost Hubs (Birkdale and Hobsonville)
Zero Waste Hub (Northcote)
Restoration Activites (Local Reserves)
Office support (Birkdale EcoHub or work from home)
A variety of tasks are available to suit different people and support can be offered to disabled people. To ensure you have the best possible experience as a volunteer, we host a ""New Volunteer Welcome Day"" or ""Volunteer Induction Session"" at the start of each month which we invite you to attend. The session covers what we are about, activities that are involved, Health & Safety and of course a morning tea!

Requirements:

This welcome day includes some outdoor volunteering to give you a feel for some of the work we do. Please wear closed shoes, bring sunblock, sun hat, water and a raincoat if it rains. Gloves are provided but are not personal, so you may want to bring your own if you have.
A reasonable level of mobility and the ability to follow simple instructions is helpful. If you are limited in these capabilities, and will require assistance, please let us know beforehand, as we are equipped to provide support in most cases.

Time commitment:
