'Tree Rescue' Along the Papakura Stream
Join Conservation Volunteers NZ on our Papakura Stream Restoration Project. This project aims to restore and protect stream banks and water quality, as well as habitat for native species.
On these volunteer days, we will be caring for thousands of native trees and shrubs that have recently been planted along the Papakura Stream. Once our native trees are planted, we need to continue caring for these trees for the next 2-3years to ensure they have the best chance of survival. Caring for these trees can be a mammoth task, and we need your help! Come along and help us release our newly planted trees from strangling weeds.
For this volunteer day you are welcome to meet us on site, or at our office in Mount Eden to get a ride in our van (by prior arrangement)
We provide all tools and equipment. Please note: Children 13 years and under are to be accompanied and supervised by an adult. What to wear: Sturdy boots/shoes or gumboots, long pants, long-sleeved shirt, bring with you a sun hat, waterproof jacket.
0930am - 1230pm if meeting onsite. 7.50am if getting a ride in the van from Mount Eden (email info@cvnz.org.nz after signing up for the event on our website)
