Companionship
Chat, support, accompany, share and find purpose in meaningful engagement. You'll have the opportunity to connect with Knox residents one-on-one or in group settings. We have many opportunities for you to share with us the things that have interest to you. These can include outings with the Lifestyle and Leisure team or helping to create life in our homes through hobbies such as gardening, craft and conversation. If you have a natural curiosity to learn new things or share the things you love the Knox Community would love to hear from you.
Passion and empathy for the elderly is essential along with a friendly and sociable temperament. Volunteers will also need to be highly patient and be confident when interacting with the elderly. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively is desirable as this will assist both the residents and the volunteer themselves.
We do not have a minimum time requirement to become a volunteer. However, if you join our volunteer team, we will ask you to choose a commitment level whether this be weekly, fortnightly or monthly.
Getting started:
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
