Weed Control

Our weed busting volunteers are passionate about their work and this role best suits people who want to volunteer regularly as a reasonable degree of skill is required to identify the weeds. If you want to volunteer regularly and become skilled at identifying and controlling moth plant then we need you! Training provided.

Must have a high level of fitness as weed control often takes place on steep hillsides or involves wading through knee high kikuyu. We are looking for an ongoing commitment for this role.

Time commitment:

An all day commitment is required as the work is on an island and we travel by a scheduled ferry service. The ferry leaves Downtown Auckland at 9:15am and returns at 4:30 or 5:30 depending on time of year. Ferry cost is $21.50 return.

Our volunteer days are on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sunday of each month except when the Sunday falls on a public holiday weekend. Although a full day commitment is required, the amount of work done is no more than 4 hours due to travel time.
