Work Experience Co-Ordinator
Recruit and screen WEX placements, including managing police vetting and onboarding documentation
Maintain availability records (e.g. via Microsoft Forms/SharePoint) and match WEX to programme need
Act as the first point of contact for WEX queries, concerns, and week-to-week logistics
Coordinate rosters across Sandringham, Wesley, and Pt Chevalier Community Centres
Support programme leads (Homework Hub, and other current activations) with WEX staffing on delivery days
Track hours, attendance, and provide references/confirmation letters where required
Facilitating Work Experience Placements (1–2 week, hybrid)
Pre-placement: Coordinate with the placing school/institution to confirm placement dates, learning goals, and any required paperwork (consent forms, vetting where applicable)
Online component: Deliver or arrange induction sessions covering DCW's mission, safeguarding basics, and an overview of current programmes — run remotely so placements can start before an in-person visit is scheduled
In-person component: Arrange for the participant to attend live sessions at whichever centre(s) align with the programme running during their placement window (e.g. Homework Hub at Wesley or Sandringham), matched to actual delivery days/times rather than a fixed weekly schedule
Ongoing check-ins: Brief daily or every-other-day check-ins (can be online) to track progress and address any issues
Wrap-up: Collect feedback, confirm completed hours, and issue a placement summary or reference on request
