Event Entrance Guides
The Whau River Catchment Trust is partnering with SportHub and West End Rowing Club to deliver a fun-filled event to celebrate the Whau River. There will be a river clean-up, Dragon Boat performances, food stalls, a guided bushwalk and more.
As an entrance guide, you’ll be the first point of contact for attendees. Your role will involve directing people to the correct entrance, offering clear and friendly guidance on where to go once they arrive, and ensuring that no vehicles enter the event area by politely turning them away.
We’re looking for people who are approachable, confident communicators and comfortable speaking to a steady flow of attendees. It’s important that you can remain calm, courteous, and firm when helping enforce event rules.
The event will take place on Saturday 23rd May from 9am to 1pm at Saunders Reserve, 26 Saunders Place, Avondale. Volunteers will be required to be on-site from 8:30am. There is no public transport to the reserve, so you will need to have another means of getting there.
This is a great opportunity to contribute to a positive community experience and help the event run smoothly. We would love to have your support!
You must be an approachable, confident communicator who is comfortable speaking to a steady flow of attendees. No experience required.
3hrs starting from 8:30am. If you are able to commit to staying longer, that would be awesome as there will be other ways to help out once most attendees have stopped arriving.
Getting started:
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
