Mentors - Fix Up, Look Sharp
Fix Up, Look Sharp helps men into employment by making sure they show up confident, prepared, and job-ready.
We’re now launching a new mentorship programme to support men not just into work, but through the critical early weeks of employment — and we’re looking for volunteer mentors to be part of it.
As a mentor, you’ll provide practical, encouraging support to someone starting a new job. This might include regular check-ins, helping them navigate early challenges at work, and being a steady, positive presence as they build confidence and routines.
You don’t need to be a career coach or have specialist training. We’re looking for people who are reliable, good listeners, and happy to offer encouragement and common-sense advice.
What’s involved:
• 1:1 support for a man starting work
• Flexible time commitment (typically a short check-in once a fortnight)
• Support and guidance from the Fix Up, Look Sharp team
This role is ideal for people who:
• Want to make a practical difference in someone’s life
• Have lived or work experience they’re happy to share
• Believe that small, consistent support can change outcomes
If you’d like to help someone move from their first day on the job to their first pay cheque — and beyond — we’d love to hear from you.
• Friendly, dependable, and keen to support others
• Available for brief, regular check-ins
• Willing to complete police vetting and basic onboarding
To be agreed.
Getting started:
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
