Hospitality support
We need someone on Show day who can work in our outdoor food court, clearing tables between people and wiping them down, ready for the next occupants.
Also checking on our nice new toilet block every couple of hours to make sure it is tidy and topping up loo paper or hand towels if required.
A happy demeanour and ability to work on your own, as it's a solo role. You'll be working around the visitors as they wander in for food and then head off again, so you need to be able to chat happily to people. You get to be outside around the main hub of the Showgrounds, mostly under open marquees. So the ability to stand and move around easily among the tables, the rubbish area, the toilet block and the office is essential. You will be smack in the middle of lots of action, with the main stage only 20m away and lots of hub-bub, music, etc going on in the vicinity.
This role really does keep our grounds looking loved and eases a worry for the committee. We really appreciate someone helping in the food court, when we are all flat out with the organisation and running of the event.
We supply you with two entry tickets to the Show (children 16 and under are free to enter), lunch and a drink for yourself, a Hi-Viz vest and ID on the day.
You are working with our Helensville Show committee, who are all volunteers and reporting to the Show Manager on the day (who is also the liaison before).
10am - 4pm, with a 30 min break around 1pm.
You are welcome to arrive earlier and stay on afterwards to check out the Show.
