Grounds Maintenance Support
Address : 517, Waitoki Road, Wainui. Our therapeutic retreat, Duke House, is a peaceful rural sanctuary where lives are rebuilt, hope is restored, and healing begins.
As a volunteer at Youth In Transition, you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the outdoor spaces at our therapeutic retreat. Your work will ensure the grounds remain safe, welcoming, and calming for all who visit.
Key responsibilities include:
Maintaining gardens, including manual weeding, weed eating, planting, pruning, and watering.
Keeping lawns, paths, and driveways clear and tidy.
Caring for our sensory garden and other outdoor features.
Painting and decorating.
Contributing to a calm and respectful atmosphere for our young people, whānau, and staff.
You’ll be supported by our friendly team, with tools, equipment, and guidance provided.
We’re looking for someone who:

Enjoys 'light' gardening, outdoor work, and being in nature.

Has some basic gardening, DIY, or property maintenance skills (preferred but not essential).

Is reliable, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team.

Takes pride in creating a safe, welcoming, and beautiful environment.

Understands the sensitive and supportive nature of our work with young people and families.

Is physically able to carry out outdoor tasks.
4-15 hours p/week, days and times flexible
