Restoring Albany Reserves
Help wanted in the Albany area! We'd love more local residents to help with weeding bees, planting events and removing invasive species on the boundaries of our local reserves. We have existing/emerging groups operating in parks such as Unsworth, The Landing, Centurion and Rosedale. We would love to increase volunteer numbers, to help make our events more impactful. Belonging to a local restoration group is really beneficial. You meet local like-minded residents, have fun and build more connections in your neighbourhood. Working bees can be really social, or you can work more independently if you would prefer.
In addition, we are seeking volunteers to help establish new teams of local park restoration in places such as Gills Reserve and Hooton Park.
If you live in Albany and would like to give a few hours each month to help remove invasive pest plants, meet new people and increase the quality and value of the native bush in the reserves, then this is the work for you!
Some mobility required, as we will be working off the track and along streams in your local Albany reserve. Sturdy walking shoes or waterproof boots and gardening gloves are needed.
Flexible, 2 - 3 hours per month - some working bees on a Sat or Sun morning.
