Park care volunteers - Thursday mornings

Wainoni Park is an internationally recognised Green Flag park and much of this is down to the amazing team of volunteers who meet every week to care for the community garden, heritage fruit trees and native plantings there. If you would like to try your hand at composting, mulching, weeding or light maintenance then you'll be rewarded with laughs, morning tea and a great sense of connection as you are welcomed by this awesome group of volunteers.

You don't have to come along every week, just when you can spare some time. The group meet every Thursday at 9.30am to noon and all the tools and equipment you could need are provided. You'll be supported with knowledge and expertise and we'd love for you to share your skills too so that we learn together.

If you would like some more information then please get in touch with Nicola at gctnicola@gmail.com

There is an element of physical activity to this role but tasks can be set based on your health and physical ability so please don't think we are working flat out for 2 hours! Work at your own pace, doing what is comfortable for you, there is always a variety of work to be done.

It would help if you come dressed to work outdoors, bring a drink bottle with you and wear some sturdy footwear.

Time commitment:
