Coastal Clean Up - Upper Waitematā
Join us as we get out there, get stuck in (literally) and get rubbish out of our harbour. With waste getting dumped, washing down from streams and being brought in on the high tides - the upper reaches of the harbour are a perfect place for litter to collect. We want to get out there, get that rubbish out of circulation and leave more space for nature.
This is not your typical sandy beach clean up - we'll be in amongst the mangroves, climbing down banks into mud flats and scrambling through bush so come prepared to get muddy, have fun and make a massive difference as part of a team of hundreds of people on the day at various locations.
Please use the application link to register for the site you want to help out at and we'll be in touch with more information in due course.
There will be some physically demanding work but also some lighter duties too (such as helping BBQ some sausages) so whatever your ability, please get in touch to find out how you can help.
Children aged 15 and under MUST be accompanied by an adult, we do not have enough volunteers on the day to supervise children but what a great way to make some awesome memories with your whanau.
You'll need to wear clothes appropriate for the weather and conditions and gumboots or other similar boots that will allow you to work in muddy and wet conditions are essential too.
2 hours and we'll reward you with a sausage sizzle and some awesome photo opportunities!
