Teaching Assistant (Homework Hub)

You’ll assist lead tutors and educators in delivering one-on-one and small-group support in core subjects such as English, Maths, Science, and ESOL. Your role is to encourage student confidence, support homework tasks, and help learners reach their academic goals. This position is ideal for someone passionate about youth education, mentoring, and creating positive learning outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

Support children and young people with homework tasks, reading, and study skills.

Help manage learning resources and educational materials.

Encourage learners by offering guidance tailored to their needs.

Assist with setting up the space and welcoming students and families.

Track attendance and help collect feedback from participants.

Foster a fun, safe, and inclusive learning atmosphere.

Requirements:

Passion for supporting young learners and improving educational outcomes.

Strong communication skills and ability to relate to children and teens.

Knowledge of core school subjects or willingness to learn.

Patient, approachable, and adaptable to different learning needs.

Commitment to attend scheduled Homework Hub sessions.

Costs: $15 for new NZ Police Check (or free/no cost for students with proof of current study).

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Wednesdays 3:45pm-5:30pm (term time)
