Interns - various opportunities

Want to help make real-world projects happen, understand the environmental non-profit sector, and gain practical experience?

An internship is an opportunity to be part of the WRT whanau, explore Waiheke Island's context and get involved in the initiatives happening here. We offer both holistic and project internships, and we welcome discussions about how our work can fit in with your studies.

We host interns all year round, both on-site and remotely (depending on specialisation). We recommend that you volunteer with us for two months or longer to get the hang of things and really connect with the Waiheke community.

YOU WILL:

  • Be passionate about the environment
  • Fit our culture of an open, flexible workspace, where good humour and mutual respect is key
  • Work proactively in a professional manner
  • Adopt WRT’s cultural statement, code of conduct, and policies
  • Use initiative and to work both independently and as part of a team (potentially in a remote setting)
  • Have excellent communication and time management skills.

SKILLS AND SPECIALISATIONS:

  • Administration and customer service
  • ESRI suite and mapping
  • Graphic design (Adobe suite, Canva)
  • Photography and videography
  • Environmental research and report writing
  • Social media content creation and comms
  • Website development (WordPress)

Time commitment:

Our internships are flexible and tailored to suit your availability. We offer a range of part-time options, but do recommend that an internship last two or more months.
