Parenting Programme Support

We are looking for volunteers to work alongside parents and their infants, supporting them as they adapt to their new role. The aim of the classes is to provide parenting education as well as encouraging the formation of support networks for those who attend to help reduce isolation and build community. The parents and babies who attend the programme will benefit directly with indirect and ongoing benefit to their extended whanau and the wider community.

Requirements:

An interest in and experience with young babies is preferred. The volunteer should be good at relationship building and confident to meet new people and engage with them on an ongoing basis.
As the volunteer will be working with vulnerable persons a Police Check will be required.

Time commitment:

The role is for 3 hours per week during term time only. Opportunities are available on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Must be available to attend a 2 hour presentation about the programme.
This is an ongoing role and opportunities exist for further training for those able to commit to supporting the programme in the long term.
