Horse Leader

The role of the Horse Leader is to lead the horse during horse riding therapy sessions. You will assist with preparing horses prior to arrival of the riders. Ensure welfare of the horse and its safe behaviour for rider and ensure horse is prepared and led to mounting ramp at the required time.

Ongoing training and the job training is provided to all volunteers, and you'll be working with a friendly and supportive team.


Some previous experience with horses preferred and must be comfortable around horses. Reasonable level of fitness required and ability to keep up with the horse if it is required to trot. Willing to take guidance from horse instructor/volunteer coordinator - particularly in relation to safety of both horses and children.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Tuesday mornings from 8:30am - 1:00pm and we are looking for an ongoing commitment of 12 months.
