Team Talk

Habitat for Humanity is a not-for-profit organisation that works in partnership with people in need and others of goodwill to combine resources to achieve positive housing outcomes by building, renovating, etc. to provide decent, affordable places to live.

In 2012 employee-volunteers took up a vast selection of restoration activities to transform a warehouse in West Auckland into a new Habitat Restore.  The Restore will sell affordable second hand household goods.  Volunteering Auckland matches teams with projects like this. This team of volunteers became painters, carpet layers, and carpenters for a day.  The team thought that the most positive aspects of the project were <em>"seeing such a massive transformation of the warehouse"</em>.  The team also felt they had achieved the outcomes they wanted for their volunteer day including, <em>"working as a team and contributing to the community.  We also had fun!"</em>
