Art Programme Support- Maurewa
Art Class Volunteer – Manurewa
Māpura Studios is a not-for-profit disability arts organisation where artists of all abilities are supported to develop their creative practice. Our classes provide a warm, welcoming and inclusive environment that encourages creativity, connection, wellbeing and personal growth.
We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and reliable Art Class Volunteer to support our Manurewa programme.
As a volunteer, you'll work alongside our experienced art tutors to help create a positive and supportive environment for our artists. Your role will involve preparing art materials, helping set up and pack down the studio, assisting artists during activities and participating in the creative life of the class.
We ask that you arrive on time, commit to your agreed shifts and communicate with us if you're unable to attend.
In return, you'll become part of a vibrant and inclusive arts community, gain valuable hands-on experience and have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of our artists.
This role would be particularly well suited to an art student, emerging artist or someone with an interest in working with people of diverse abilities. No previous art experience is required but disability support experience is preferable – patience, empathy, initiative and a willingness to get involved is most important.
Due to being a small organisation, we unfortunately do not have to time to respond to unsuitable enquires.
9:30am till 12:30pm Fridays
Getting started:
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
