Social Media Support for Mapura Studios
Māpura Studios is a not-for-profit disability arts organisation where our artists develop their creative practice with the support of experienced tutors. Our welcoming and inclusive community offers visual arts, music, movement and art therapy programmes across Tāmaki Makaurau.
As our Social Media Volunteer, you will work alongside the Māpura support team to help plan, create and publish content across our social media channels. Your role will include developing content ideas, visiting classes and events to capture photos and short videos, writing engaging captions, creating simple content and helping schedule and publish approved posts. You will help us celebrate our artists, promote our programmes and events, and show the wider community the creativity and connection found at Māpura. All content will be created and posted in conjunction with the support team, with clear guidance around our tone, brand, privacy and consent processes.
This role would suit someone who understands social media, has a good creative eye and is confident using a phone to capture engaging photos and videos. You can expect a warm and inclusive environment, clear communication and guidance, opportunities to build your portfolio and practical experience, and regular check-ins with space for feedback and new ideas.

You will need to understand the importance of consent, privacy and respectful storytelling when photographing or filming our artists. Experience using Instagram, Facebook, Canva, photography or basic video editing would be helpful, but is not essential.
