Videographer & Storyteller

BBBS Auckland is a mentoring organisation that pairs young people aged 6-12 with an adult volunteer mentor, someone who can be a stable, consistent and reliable role model.

We currently have 44 children on our waitlist, waiting to be matched with a mentor. Most of these children have experienced adversity of some kind and have limited access to consistent adult role models. We'd love to create a short, high-quality video that tells our story, who we are, why we exist, what mentoring looks like, and the impact of a positive adult relationship on a young person's life. It would capture the child, mentor and caregivers perspective.

What would you be doing?

Working alongside our team, you would help us:

• Capture footage that tells the story of BBBS Auckland and our mentoring programme
• Interview staff, mentors and, where appropriate, young people and whānau
• Capture the genuine experiences and impact of mentoring
• Help shape the story and overall feel of the video
• Edit the footage into a compelling final video suitable for our website, social media, fundraising and community engagement
• Potentially capture additional short clips that we can use for future communications

This is a fantastic opportunity to use your creative skills for a meaningful cause and produce a piece of work that will have a lasting impact. If you are volunteering as part of an organisation or business, we would be delighted to acknowledge and recognise your organisation's support in our communications and the finished project.

Your video will help us tell the BBBS Auckland story, showcase the difference our mentors make, help us reach more volunteers and supporters, and ultimately help more children access the positive adult relationships they need.

• Has experience in videography, filming and editing and can show examples
• Can tell a story through video and capture authentic moments
• Has their own camera/video equipment
• Is comfortable interviewing people and putting them at ease
• Understands the importance of privacy, safeguarding and consent when working around children and young people
• Is reliable, creative and able to work collaboratively with a small charity team
• Most importantly, wants to use their skills to make a positive difference

A Police background check is required for this role.

This would be one project - estimated 4 - 8 hours including filming and editing.

There maybe the option to continue as a volunteer.
