9 October 2026 to 11 October 2026

New Zealand Society of Genealogists (a registered charity) is hosting its annual Family History Expo supported by sponsors, Society members, etc. The Expo features exhibitor booths, expert guest speakers, hands-on workshops, etc. The aim is to generate interest among the general public in the subject of family history. The requirement is for some volunteers help to assist with setting-up and packing down of the physical infrastructure (signage, for example and possible the exhibitor spaces [tables, screens, etc.]). Other activities might include handing out A5 flyers at the train station, manning the pedestrian gate, making sure any rubbish is picked up and the venue is kept tidy and safe, helping exhibitors unpack their cars, and packdown at the end of Sunday?

No particular knowledge of family history/genealogy required as the volunteers required will be limited to physical tasks such as helping with set up (and pack down) of the Expo and its infrastructure (eg signage, exhibitor booths/tables), external signs and manning the pedestrian entrance to the campus. Time commitment:

Set-up: first half of Friday 9th October
Pack down: evening of Sunday 11th October (starting 5pm - 2 hours max.)
