Website Support
Big Brothers Big Sisters Auckland (BBBS Auckland) is a youth mentoring charity supporting young people aged 6–12 who face increased risk of social isolation and adverse life outcomes. Through long-term, one-to-one mentoring relationships, we help build confidence, resilience, and a strong sense of belonging—giving young people the support they need to thrive.
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented WordPress volunteer to support the ongoing management, maintenance, and improvement of our existing website. This includes updating content, ensuring pages are accurate and engaging, improving layout and usability where needed, and helping keep our site aligned with our branding and messaging.
While our team will provide content and direction, your role will be to ensure this is effectively presented online—keeping the website current, accessible, and visually engaging for supporters, volunteers, and funders.
Your work will play a key role in strengthening how we communicate our impact, recruit volunteer mentors, and engage supporters, ensuring more people can connect with and support our work.
What you’ll be doing:
- Maintaining and updating our existing WordPress website
- Uploading and formatting new content, stories, and resources
- Ensuring pages are accurate, up to date, and visually consistent
- Experience using WordPress (content updates and page management)
- Basic understanding of website layout and user experience
- Ability to work independently and follow brand/content guidelines
- Attention to detail and accuracy when updating content
- Reliable communication with the BBBS Auckland team
Approximately 1-2 hours a week. Maybe more if there are design projects.
