Online Mentor for Youth
Mentoring is one of the most rewarding things you’ll ever do.
Upside Youth Mentoring is launching an exciting new online mentoring pilot, and we’re looking for caring, reliable adults of any age to volunteer as Online Youth Mentors for young people aged 11–13.
By giving just one hour a week, you can help a young person build confidence, feel supported, and strengthen belief in themselves and their future.
No mentoring experience is needed – we provide training, guidance and ongoing support.
What you’ll do
• Meet online with a young person once a week for one hour
• Build a positive, encouraging mentoring relationship
• Listen well, encourage growth, and support confidence-building
• Follow Upside’s mentoring framework and safeguarding processes
• Participate in training and check-ins with the Upside team
About you
You may be a great fit if you are:
• Warm, dependable and a good listener
• Passionate about supporting young people
• Able to commit consistently for 10 weeks
• Comfortable using online platforms
• Open to learning and following a structured mentoring approach
• Willing to complete Upside’s screening and police vetting process
• Available to begin training in June and commence mentoring in July

Commit to a regular time each week during School hours. 1hr each week.
Before you start
Applicants will be asked to complete:
• Application and interview process
• Police vetting and safety screening
• Reference checks
• Volunteer training before matching
1 hour a week for 10 weeks
