General Event Assistants

EcoMatter’s Every Bite, Cooking with Confidence (with the Deaf Wellbeing Society’s Natasha) event is being held at Auckland Deaf Society on Wednesday 6 May.
Every Bite is a four-week programme which supports people to use food well, waste less food, and save money. This Every Bite programme opening event is for Deaf, deaf, and hard of hearing people. There will be a professional NZSL interpreter. Dinner is provided.
We are looking for volunteers to help set up and pack down the venue, as well as to provide some general help during the event itself. Following directions of the Events Co-ordinator, you will be setting up tables and chairs, assisting during the event, and then helping pack everything away again at the end. If you have any experience with deaf people or Deaf community, it would be a big plus! But it’s not a requirement for this role.

Requirements:

Able to follow instructions. Physically capable of carrying things, setting up and taking down event furniture.

Time commitment:

Wednesday 6 May.
From 2.30pm to help with set up. If you can, stay until 8.20pm to support pack down. But it’s ok if you need to leave early.

Dinner will be provided at roughly 7.15pm.

Getting started:
The first step is to express your interest by filling out the form below. We will then put you in touch directly with the organisation for more information on the role and how to proceed.
