Digital Storytelling & Community Impact Assistant

The Kindness Institute is looking for a creative and community-minded volunteer to support our marketing and social media activity in Tāmaki Makaurau, Auckland.

This role would suit someone who enjoys social media, believes in the power of storytelling, and wants to use their skills to support a not-for-profit making a positive difference for rangatahi and whānau. We are looking for someone who is interested in kaupapa Māori, wellbeing, and values-based work, and who can bring care, creativity, and initiative to our communications.

As our Digital Storytelling & Community Impact Assistant, you will help us share the story of our work in ways that align with the values and tikanga of The Kindness Institute. This includes supporting social media content, assisting the funding team with promotional materials, creating simple and engaging content in Canva, and helping monitor and update website content where needed.

This is a flexible volunteer role, ideally suited to someone who can offer around half a day per week during weekdays, although we are open to discussing what works best.

Requirements:

What you’ll be helping with

Supporting social media planning and posting
Creating promotional content using Canva
Assisting with communications that support the funding team
Helping monitor website content and flagging updates
Contributing ideas for content that reflects our kaupapa, values, and community impact
Supporting positive and consistent storytelling across our platforms

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Flexible weekday hours, ideally around half a day per week.
