Community Celebration & Events Volunteer

Māpura Studios is a vibrant community arts organisation where creativity, inclusion and connection come together. We support people of all abilities to explore their creativity and express themselves through art in welcoming studio environments across Auckland.
We are looking for a confident and creative volunteer who enjoys bringing people together through simple but meaningful celebrations.
Māpura Studios seeks a joyful volunteer to plan simple, low-cost celebration days across our studios, sparking creativity, connection and belonging while working with the CEO to engage artists, tutors and volunteers.
(Examples of celebrations include NZ Sign Language Week, Matariki, Day of People with Disabilities and more).

Requirements:

You do not need professional event experience, but it is important that you are organised, adaptable and enjoy working creatively with very small budgets.
It is also important that you are able to fit in with the Māpura Studios culture, which values emotional intelligence, respect and inclusion.
Experience using simple planning tools such as Google Calendar or shared documents would be helpful.

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Approximately 4 - 8 hours per month, with flexibility around celebration dates to possibly visit different sites and set up activations.
We would really appreciate a commitment of at least six months, ideally one year for this exciting and fun position.
