Home Visiting Program (Howick, East Auckland)
Plunket’s Volunteer Home Visiting Program provides short-term practical support for families referred by their Plunket Nurse. The service is provided in each family’s home and supports them with practical day-to-day tasks (e.g. light housework), emotional support, a chance to catch up sleep, positive parenting, as well as linking families with community activities and support. Plunket’s Volunteer Home Visiting Program is provided to families with children under the age of five for no charge.
You’ll be a responsible and reliable individual who understands how to build connections and help others to feel confident and empowered. Good communicator Experience in parenting or experience with babies/and young children Kind and empathetic Non-judgmental Honest and reliable.
Volunteers visit families for around 2 hours per week for four weeks. Hours are negotiated with the family. Most volunteers visit just one family per week, but you may choose visit more than one family.
