Changes Coordinator - Henderson
We provide tracking devices to those with a cognitive impairment ie, dementia, autism who wander. You will be responsible for dropping off a new tracking device to up to five clients each month. This is a critical volunteer role for our organisation as it is imperative our clients always have a workable tracking device available to them for their safety. You will meet new people, help to keep our clients safe and provide peace of mind to their friends & whanau.

Each month you will be given a file with the client’s details for the battery changes. The batteries are changed every six months which requires the collection of the old device and replacing it with a refurbished device which will last a further six months. The process entails telephoning the client to arrange a mutually suitable time to meet and then completing the exchange. After each change you will report back to the Manager via email/text about what has occurred and confirm that the device was changed etc.
After you have completed your changes you will post them back to the Programme Manager.
You will need to have a clean full NZ driver’s licence and your own vehicle for this role - we will reimburse you for mileage with petrol vouchers.
You will need to be Police vetted as we work with vulnerable clients and their whanau.
Client ages range from pre-school to the elderly.
It would be advantageous, but not necessary if you had previous experience with people with cognitive impairments e.g. Dementia, Autism, Down Syndrome etc
1 - 4 hours a month.
Working in with the client you are doing the tracking device change for, you can generally pick your own hours to do your deliveries. The changes can usually be done during the day, but with school aged children they may need to be done after school, in the early evening or on a weekend.
We will reimburse any mileage expense you incur during WanderSearch Auckland service in the form of petrol gift cards.
This is an ongoing role.
