English Conversation Group Facilitator
Unpaid volunteer role to support a programme for non-English speakers in the Kaipātiki area to practice and improve their English in a friendly, welcoming community environment.
The programme will be open to all non-English speakers, regardless of visa type, for our Ethnic communities in the Kaipātiki area. It will be a relaxed group, with coffee / tea and snacks provided and participants can come and practise their English with each other and with you.
The group will be on Wednesdays 12.30 - 2pm (or 1-2.30pm) term time only (not on during school holidays) at Beach Haven Community House 130 Beach Haven Road, Beach Haven. We are hoping to start term 1 Wednesday the 11th of Feb.
Reliable and punctual.
Good group facilitation skills.
Passionate about creating a welcoming and supportive environment.
Happy to work with small and larger groups.
Good grasp of the English Language and able to support participants to practice speaking.
Fun and able to improvise on the spot when needed.
ESOL or adult education experience preferred (but not essential). Preference given local residents.
1.5 hours per week during term time between 12.30-2.30 on Wednesday's.
