West Auckland Conversation Partner

The Volunteer Stroke Scheme is looking for caring volunteers in West Auckland to support people with communication difficulties following a stroke. Many people experience social isolation after a stroke. As a Conversation Partner, you can make a real difference by spending around one hour a week sharing supported conversation with a client in your local area.

You don't need any healthcare experience. We're looking for people who are good listeners, enjoy meeting new people, are interested in learning different ways of communicating, are fluent in spoken and written English, and have their own transport.

Full training is provided, along with ongoing support from a Speech-Language Therapist and Volunteer Coordinator.
