Admin Volunteer – Māpura Studios

Māpura Studios is a creative space providing art programmes for people living with disability and diversity, as well as the wider community. We believe in the power of art to foster connection, confidence, and wellbeing. Our studio is a supportive and inclusive environment where creativity is celebrated, and everyone is encouraged to express themselves through art.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and reliable Admin Volunteer to support our studio’s day-to-day operations. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being organised, working with people, and contributing to a meaningful cause. As an Admin Volunteer, you will assist our team with administrative and clerical tasks that help our programmes run smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:
• Provide general administrative support to the Māpura Studios team
• Answer phone calls, greet visitors, and respond to general inquiries
• Assist with maintaining databases, contact lists, and studio records
• Support scheduling, filing, and document management (digital and physical)
• Help prepare materials for classes, workshops, and exhibitions
• Assist with communications, such as emails, newsletters, or social media updates
• Provide occasional event support (e.g. openings, community days, art shows)

Requirements:

Skills and Attributes
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Good written and verbal communication
• Comfortable using basic computer applications (Word, Excel, email, etc.)
• Friendly, approachable, and professional manner
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn

A Police background check is required for this role.

Time commitment:

Between the hours of 9.30am and 5pm on a weekday, once a week for a minimum of 3 months, with the option to extend.
