Set Painters
Would you like to help us with a key component of our productions that will be seen by thousands of patrons? Once the set has been constructed, we need volunteers to help make it shine onstage through painting the walls, stage floor, and some furniture. Prior experience welcome but not required. Looking both for confident painters who can be given an assignment and work autonomously and for newcomers who are keen to help out - we will provide supervised training and supply everything you need. Being comfortable working on ladders is also helpful but not a necessity. Working hours are flexible around our rehearsal schedule - weekdays are ideal but evenings and weekends are also available. The Dolphin Theatre is known for creating stunning sets onstage that establish the world of the play and ground the performances in thier particular reality. The set painting is a vital piece of the puzzle that influences every other part of the show, including costumes, decor, and even the acting. Come join our team!
A positive attitude and a willingness to learn is really all you need. Any experience is a helpful bonus. This role is perfect for retired folks or anyone who is free during normal working hours, but also can work for younger creative professionals looking for an activity during evenings and weekends!
Flexible scheduling - paint for a few hours at a time whenever you're available. Typically we have about a 2-3 week window for painting between when the set build is complete and double dress rehearsal when our production photos are taken. Our next show is fast approaching so looking for more volunteers ASAP!
