Who we are: Communicare provides Seniors across Auckland with Companionship and activity stimulation. Our Friendship Centres provide a vital service, ensuring those who are lonely, vulnerable and isolated have their needs met through community connection and recreation. Our Centre Coordinators assisted by teams of volunteers create an environment to meet our member’s needs and provide a service that promotes good health and well-being. About the role: You will be under the guidance of the Centre Coordinator at our brand new Otahuhu Centre where People can gather together as a community in Friendship and Connection. We need fit and fun-loving volunteers who can assist with set up and pack down, kitchen work and games and other activities that contribute to the lives of people through engagement and fun. Communicare also has other volunteer roles across Auckland, if you are interested, we would love to hear from you however our Christmas shutdown means that we will not be in touch till mid-January.
Have a friendly nature, at ease in groups of people and enjoy socialisation. Enjoys activities such as crafts and games. Be able to make a regular commitment.
This Otahuhu based volunteer role is on Mondays from 9am to 1pm during the school term.
