Playgroup Facilitator - Meadowbank
Playgroups provide a safe place for young children to interact and parents to meet on a regular basis. Playgroups are designed to offer a range of educational activities to nurture children’s learning and development, and encourage friendship and support for parents and caregivers.
The facilitator is responsible for assisting the Playgroup Coordinator each Monday morning (during the school term) for 2-3 hrs from 9am-12pm at the Meadowbank Plunket Clinic.
Tasks include:
-Provide a welcoming environment for parents and caregivers, including meeting and greeting children and parents/caregivers, and offering support when needed;
-Set up the group environment with a range of toys and resources;
-Set up tea/coffee, and refreshments;
-Assist in the completion of the Health and Safety group precheck list before the group commences (HS049) (including the location of the first aid kit and evacuation plan);
-Help plan activities/celebrations with input from whānau and the Playgroup Coordinator;
-Share information with the group, such as monthly injury prevention, available Plunket services, and local/Plunket events; and
-Pack up and tidy the playgroup environment with the help of the whānau.

-Culturally aware and have a commitment to the Te Tiriti o Waitangi
-Good interpersonal skills; and
-Enjoys working as part of a team.
A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.
