Board Trustee

Volunteering Auckland Trust promotes and fosters the concept of volunteerism in the greater Auckland area. We are committed to ensuring a positive experience for volunteers.

The Board of Trustees holds governance oversight and responsibility for Volunteering Auckland. There are currently six Trustees bringing a diverse range of experience including two Co-Chair roles.

The Board is looking to recruit new Trustees to replace Board members who have recently moved on due to personal commitments, or have finished their term. Ideal candidates will have strong business and governance skills, preferable including the not-for-profit sector. It would be valuable for the potential Trustees to have strong connections into the communities our volunteers come from, including Māori, Pasifika, disability and youth communities. Working knowledge in one or more areas such as volunteer management, finance, youth volunteering, compliance, information systems, human resources, fundraising or corporate partnerships would also be valuable.

One of the vacancies is to step into the Co-Chair role, replacing the Trustee whose term is due to finish.

The Volunteering Auckland Board is a very engaged group of Board members who support the strategic direction and have governance oversight. Beyond formal meetings, the expectation of Trustees is to support each other and the Volunteering Auckland team.

If you are interested in applying for a Trustee role, please send us your CV and a cover letter to gm@volunteeringauckland.org.nz on or before 29 August 2025. The Board recruitment process includes shortlisting, interviews and reference checks.
