Companionship Support - Hillsborough

As a companionship support Volunteer, you'll visit a local member in their home for a friendly catch-up, a walk, or a chat over a cup of tea. This role is all about connection so offering warmth, consistency and a listening ear to someone who may be feeling isolated. Whether it’s once a week or fortnight, your presence can bring joy and brighten their day. Training is provided. About Blind Low Vision NZ: Every day, an average of nine New Zealanders turn to Blind Low Vision NZ for support with vision loss. We provide emotional and practical support, so that people who are blind, deafblind or have low vision can keep working and living independently. We meet people in their homes or at their local Blind Low Vision NZ office to collectively make this happen. We also advocate for accessible and inclusive communities. We believe people with vision loss deserve equal access to public spaces, information and careers. This is made possible through education and removing barriers. At Blind Low Vision NZ we believe no goal is too big or small. https://blindlowvision.org.nz/
