Care Home Social Support - Māngere East
Volunteers are needed to bring joy to residents in a care home for older adults living with dementia. We are looking for volunteers who can commit to 1 hour every week to assist with activities, offer social support, and provide companionship for residents. These volunteers should enjoy spending time with older adults and have excellent communication skills.
Most of all, we look for kind-hearted volunteers who are willing to give some of their time to help others. Volunteers also need to be reliable and have confidence to interact with care home residents (with assistance from other volunteers and staff). Emotional maturity is important for this role. Volunteers will be required to complete an online orientation (30 minutes) and in-person orientation (1 hour) before starting. Volunteers need to be able to complete a 1-hour orientation on a weekday between 9am-5pm.
1 hour per week is ideal on a weekday or weekend between the hours of 10am-5pm.
