Playgroup Coordinator - Titirangi Plunket Playgroup
This will be a varied role where you will be responsible for running our Plunket Playgroup, ensuring it is accessible to whānau in Laingholm, Titirangi and surrounding areas on a regular basis. This includes providing a range of educational activities to enhance tamariki ongoing learning and development and encourage parents' participation.
You will set up and pack up each playgroup session, this may include some planning, ensuring the health and safety of participants are met, and monitoring children, our resources and our supplies. Playgroup Coordinator role may include facilitating activities such as a story session, music session, play dough. painting and craft activities. You will also be responsible of ensuring that the venue is tidy at the conclusion of each sessions. As a part of this role, we incorporate fundraising opportunities. Therefore, you should be comfortable to ask participants for donations.
The purpose of the role is to bring parents / caregivers together, giving them an opportunity to meet and connect with each other, participate in their child/ren learning in a welcoming and safe environment.
You will be passionate about community and supporting families. You will be a self-motivated, warm individual who is able to communicate with whānau from all walks of life. Working with tamariki requires you to be flexible and agile, therefore you should be able to adjust as required. You will need Internet access and be confident on social media.

Skill Requirements:
• Excellent communication skills
• Has integrity, reliability and maintains confidentiality
• Sensitivity and ability to interact with parents of many ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds
• Organisational and administration skills
A Ministry of Justice background check is required for this role.
The role can take about 8 hours of your time per week: 3-4 hours on Tuesdays and 3-4 hours on Thursdays. Training will include: Welcome to Plunket, Health and Safety, Child protection policies, working safely in the community, and the role requires an ongoing commitment.
