Secretary for Ngā Ringa O Te Auaunga, Friends of Oakley Creek

Support the fantastic work of Ngā Ringa O Te Auaunga, Friends of Oakley Creek by joining our committee as secretary. The committee support the work of our volunteers restoring the longest awa in Tamaki Makaurau. We do lots of planting, invasive weed control, litter removal, predator control and water monitoring and are about to celebrate our 20th anniversary. We have a chair, treasurer and five other committee members who have different areas of expertise such as in comms, funding or nursery work. We have two staff, Wendy and Sandra, who lead events on the ground with our volunteers and we also bring out a quarterly newsletter. The committee meets on the second Monday of every month at 7.30pm for one and a half hours. (Except for January - we take January off!) We meet in Mt Albert and there is always lots of ginger tea and goodwill but we currently don't have a secretary to take minutes.

Requirements:

We'd love it to be a local person who lives in the area and can make it in person, but you can join the meetings online too. An eye for detail and basic computer skills and we'd be good to go!

Time commitment:

We meet on the second Monday of every month at 7.30pm for around an hour and a half. There are occasionally other meetings if there is something special to plan for, like our 20th anniversary celebrations coming up.
